The specs of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip are no longer a secret.
As German site, WinFuture has published the specs and so much more, regarding the Galaxy Z Flip.
According to the site, the Galaxy Z Flip will indeed have a secondary display on the front, that will show notifications. Similar to the Motorola razr.
Galaxy Z Flip specs are a mixed bag
The specs of the Galaxy Z Flip are mostly a mixed bag here. We're looking at an older Snapdragon 855 chipset, which might be a deal-breaker for some. But the other specs look pretty good.
There's also 8GB of RAM included, 256GB of storage. There's two 12-megapixel cameras on the back, with a 10-megapixel front-facing sensor.
There will be two displays. A 1.06-inch display on the outside that will show notifications and such when it is folded. The inside has a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display, with a full HD+ resolution. So it's not a Quad HD+ resolution like the Galaxy S20 series smartphones.
This is all powered by a somewhat small 3300mAh capacity display. Though with Samsung sticking with a full HD+ display, it could still last very long on a single charge.
You're going to get all of this for $1400. That might sound like a lot, for these specs. But when it comes to the Galaxy Z Flip, it's more than just the specs. The foldable phone in general is still very new, so they won't be available for cheap. And that's what we're seeing here.
All will be confirmed on February 11
Samsung will be announcing the Galaxy Z Flip alongside the Galaxy S20 series at Unpacked on February 11.
So while we are already seeing a ton of different leaks regarding the Galaxy Z Flip, they will all be confirmed in about two weeks time. Which is a good thing. But given who these leaks are coming from, it's very likely that these are accurate.
The Galaxy Z Flip is slated to be available starting on February 14. So it's going to go on sale rather quickly after the device is announced at Unpacked. It's going head-to-head with Motorola's razr, which is also slated to go on sale that day. But for the spec-heads out there, the Galaxy Z Flip does offer a better spec sheet, with a slightly newer, but also more high-end Snapdragon 855 chipset inside, over the razr's Snapdragon 710.
Unpacked is really shaping up to be a pretty impressive event.
